What is the cost of the COVID 19 test in India?
As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare notification issued on 21st March 2020, the cost of the COVID 19 test is Rs. 4500 only.
The order said the National Task Force recommends that the maximum cost for the testing samples should not exceed Rs. 4500. This may include Rs. 1500 as a screening test for suspect cases, and an additional Rs. 3000 for a confirmation test. However, ICMR encourages free or subsidized testing in this hour of the National Public Health emergency.
