Revised HRA Rates for CG Employees from July 2021
Effective starting July 1, 2021, Central Government employees will receive updated House Rent Allowance (HRA) rates in A, B, and C-class cities. This adjustment is a result of the Dearness Allowance exceeding 25%, leading to an increase in HRA rates from the previous levels of 24%, 16%, and 8%. Notably, A-class cities will receive a raise from 24% to 27%, while B-class cities will see an increase from 16% to 18%, and C-class cities will receive a raise to 9% from 8%. New Transport Allowance from July 2022
Starting in July 2022, Transport Allowance will be provided to employees of the Central Government, including those of Railways, in accordance with their entitlement. The allocation of this allowance is determined based on the guidelines set forth by the 7th Pay Commission and is subject to adjustment according to the prevailing rate of Dearness Allowance. If the Dearness Allowance rate is 38%, then 38% of the Transport Allowance designated for the employee will be added to their entitled amount.
