The Canteen Stores Department (CSD) has announced that several Unit Run Canteens (URCs) have been nominated as Depot Canteens. This means that these canteens will now operate as larger, more comprehensive stores providing a wider variety of products and services. For example, in Tamil Nadu, the 13 URC canteens have been nominated as Depot Canteens, offering customers a wider selection of grocery items, household goods, and other essential products. This move by the CSD is aimed at providing better services and products to the military community and their families.
