    Sir,
I retired in 2006 as a govt school teacher, Karnataka. Even after 2021 when my full pension was to be restored the bank is still deducting commutation, despite several reminders to them. Now the bank says there was a 2nd commutation in 2008 of which I am not aware. Wat is 2nd commutation? Is the bank defrauding me?

You may recollect since the the 6th Pay Commission was given effect from 1-1-2006 with pay fixation but it was announced only in 2008 so your Dearness Pay from 1-1-2006 it was merged with basic pay, if basic pay raises basic Pension also raised on that basis you might have got 2nd commutation amount later after the orders were issued & claimed by ex-employer and arrears COMMUTATION amount may be got by you. Check up your accounts.

Check up with Bank any amount of Income tax has been recovered for the the Financial Year 2022-23 if your total income is more as per the Income tax rules.

Pension is given to worked in for the employees as salary, after retirement as Pension up till his/her death as per the age of percentage. Family pension is given after death of the pensioner to the spouse/eligible dependent if applicable as per rule & not as the spouse (eligible dependent) as per their age for them.

Now it’s not necessary, since all should be computerised in Bank Records by the Bank Authority. So approach Bank Manger with the Pass Book/ATM Card/Cheque Book of his, he will give his PPO No. note down for your Rec it’s enough. Say not to worry, pension will be paid until his life period & every year should give LIFE CERTIFICATE/JEEVAN PRANAM DIGITAL LIFE CERTIFICATE through Aadhar based digital bio-metrics Authorized.

A statement on CAG website states below: “The rates of Family Pension admissible under Rule 4 of Karnataka Government servants (Family Pension) Rules, 2002 (revised by G.O. NO. FD 03 PEN 2007(I) dated 6-6-2007) is as follows:

30% of pay last drawn with effect from 01/07/2005 subject to minimum of Rs. 2250/- and maximum of RS. 11970/- pm”.

On the death of the month the full pension is not eligible on the same month family pension is eligible. Check with bank full TDS may be recovered on that month so the pension balance amount may not be in his pension. Is it Karnataka government pension or any other. Intimate last basic pay only (without any allowance) of retirement .So that family pension may be calculated.

Pension & family pension will not be given both in month. In his life time his revision pension was of 32,071/- from 1-7-2017. In my conclusion your Mother was Pensioner. If it is correct your father (spouse) will get same pension as Enhanced Pension upto her 67years after that he will get 60% of pension as family pension upto his lifetime.

If government servant dies.his eligible child gets government job within one year. But how it is timeline for family pension to unmarried major daughter?

Further you may note that employees joined after 2004 they also not given for PENSION. For them in some percentages of salary deducted in service that amount will be given as NATIONAL PENSION SCHEME for the use of only that employee.

You might have combined basic Pension with Dearnes relief for of them, make it separate then calculate 60% of your father’s basic Pension as your mother’s family Pension add D.R. 1.75%, see the total it may be correct.. If it is not correct contact your father’s ex-employer/Treasury of District.
