Is there any proposal to return the VVN during the pandemic period?
Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi (VVN), Computer Fund, and Tuition Fees are being charged by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) from the students at a very nominal rate. Exemption of various types of fees is not allowed to the children of Government employees (including Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan employees) as they are getting reimbursement of Children’s Education Allowance from their departments.
These funds/fees are the part of fee structure of KVS and it is utilized for student welfare activities as well as upkeep of Vidyalaya, and academic transactions and are essential for the developmental activities in the school. During the COVID-19 pandemic, school activities, as well as academic transactions, continued in online mode. No such proposal is under consideration of the Government to return the amount charged under various items to the parents of students who are working in the private sector or are unemployed during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
