Kendriya Vidyalaya Class 1 Admission Form 2023-24
The biggest admission carnival will be started in the month of March 2023 for class 1 admission in more than 1200 Kendriya Vidyalayas with a single-window portal! Every year minimum of 5 lakh to a maximum of 10 lakh applications was received for one lakh (approximately) seats! In the last academic year 2022-23, due to the enhancement of age restriction to class 1 students, a minimum number of applications were received! Online registration applications are expected to be more in the academic year 2023-24 for class 1 admission in all KV schools located across India! Important Notes for KVS Class 1 Admission 2023-24
It is essential to inform everyone that to enroll in Class 1 for Kendriya Vidyalaya during the academic year 2023-24, the applicant’s age limit is between 6 to 8 years. For admission into any KV school in India, your child must have completed six years old by 31st March 2023. Important Dates for Admission in KV 2023-24
The first registration process for class 1 admission in all Kendriya Vidyalaya schools is expected to start in the first week of March 2023. However, the headquarter of KV Sangathan will declare the exact date of registration for class 1 admission in all KV schools. Admissions for class 1 are being done through online mode and for other classes it is offline.

KVS Admission Class 1 Age Limit 2023-24
One of the most important criteria for applying for class 1 admission in KV school is the age of an applicant! An applicant must be 6 years old on 31.3.2023 for the academic year 2023-24. And the upper age is 8 years. 2 years are extended for disabled children on the upper age limit. [Children born on 1st April will also be considered for admission]. The revised age limit was introduced in the academic year 2022-23 by KVS.

KVS Fee Structure 2023-24
Kendriya Vidyalaya Fee Structure 2023-24: There might be no change in the fee structure of KV schools in the academic year 2023-24. The existing elements of the fee structure (Admission fee, Tuition fee, Computer fee, and VVN) will also be continued for all classes in KV schools!

KVS Fee and Concessions 2023-24
No fee is to be charged to the children admitted under the 25% quota prescribed under RTE Act 2009. Expenses on account of NCERT textbooks, notebooks, stationary, uniform, and transport will be reimbursed on production of proper bills in respect of 25% of the children admitted under the RTE Provisions subject to the ceiling prescribed and availability of funds. Once the children are admitted in Class I under RTE Act, they will continue to enjoy exemptions and concessions till class VIII either in the same KV or any other K.V. moving on transfer as per RTE Act. Address proof of the parent should be furnished at the time of the registration. The employees who have the facility of fee reimbursement in their departments cannot claim RTE concessions.
KVS Admission Reservations 2023-24
The prevailing central government reservation system will be followed here as well. 15% seats for Scheduled Caste, 7.5% seats for Scheduled Tribes, and 27% seats for Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) shall be reserved in all fresh admissions in all Kendriya Vidyalayas. 3% seats of the total available seats for fresh admission will be horizontally reserved for Differently Abled-children as per the provisions of the RTE Act, 2009.
Single Girl Children Quota Admission in KV 2023-24
Special Provisions for Admission in KV 2023-24: Many categories of special provisions are in KV schools to get admission. The most important category is ‘Single Girl Children’ (SGC). If you have only one girl child, your child will be eligible to apply under this provision. If you have twin children, you can apply under the same special category for class 1 admission in any KV school.

KVS Admission Procedure 2023-24
Not only for Central Govt Employees! Admissions in Kendriya Vidyalayas are not restricted to Central Government employees and are open to all! An advertisement for online registration to Class 1 shall be issued by the Regional Office of KVS in the local newspapers as per the admission schedule and inviting Parents to register their wards for admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas. This advertisement should specifically indicate that admissions in Kendriya Vidyalayas are not restricted to Central Govt. employees and are open to all, only certain priorities have been laid down for different categories to regulate the admissions. The reservations for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, and Differently Able under RTE Act 2009 should also be indicated.
KVS Admission Required Documents 2023-24
Age Proof Certificate: Certificate of proof of age in the form of a birth certificate issued by the authority competent to register births. The original certificate of date of birth should be submitted for verification. Caste Certificate: Certificate that the child belongs to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe or EWS or OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) or BPL wherever applicable, issued by the Competent Authority in the concerned State Government or Union Government. Disability Certificate: Certificate from the civil surgeon or rehabilitation center or any other competent authority defined by the Government of India certifying the child is handicapped, wherever applicable. Service Certificate: Certificate showing the number of transfers during the preceding 7 years duly signed and stamped by the head of the office bearing the name, designation, and other relevant particulars in block letters. Retirement Certificate: Certificate of retirement for uniformed Defence employees. Address Proof Certificate: Proof of Residence.
KVS Class 1 Admission Method 2023-24
Method of Admission in Class 1: Out of the available seats of fresh admission 25% shall be reserved for Right To Education (RTE), 15% shall be reserved for SC, 7.5% shall be reserved for ST and 27% seats shall be reserved for “OBC- Non-Creamy Layer”. The reservation norms shall be applicable within the approved class strength of 40 students per section as follows…
RTE 25% : 10 seats
SC 15% : 06 seats
ST 7.5% : 03 seats
OBC 27% : 11 seats
(3% seats for the differently-abled applicant would be reserved horizontally)
After closing of the process of registration, the sequence of conduct of the lottery by each Kendriya Vidyalaya will be as under RTE Lottery, All DA Lotteries, CAT I, CAT II, SC, ST, OBC, CAT III, CAT IV, CAT V, CAT VI (If applicable) and Single Girl Child The following sequence is to be adopted for the fresh admissions to Class-I in Kendriya Vidyalayas.
1st Lot: 10 seats (out of 40 seats) in Class I per section are to be filled as per RTE Provisions (25% of seats) and these 10 seats will be filled by draw of lots from all applications of SC or ST or EWS or BPL or OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) or Differently abled taken together who is the resident of Neighbourhood.
2nd Lot: Lottery for Differently Abled candidates of SC or ST or OBC NCL or Unreserved is to be conducted as per Priority Category.
3rd Lot: Remaining seats (after deducting RTE and Differently Abled applicants, if any) will be filled as per the existing Priority Category of Cat-1 and Cat-2 (Cat-1 to Cat-3 in case of Project or IHL KV) only up to the sanctioned strength or till all the registered candidates from Cat-1 and Cat-2 (Cat-1 to Cat3 in case of Project or IHL KV) is filled.
4th Lot: – The total number of SC or ST or OBC-NCL will be counted from the admitted summary of RTE, DA, Cat-1, and Cat-2 (Cat-1 to Cat-3 in case of Project or IHL KV) admissions done till the third phase. Thereafter, the shortfall in the seats reserved for SC or ST, or OBC-NCL, if any, shall be covered by admitting SC or ST, or OBC-NCL applicants as per the order of priorities of admission, irrespective of the sanctioned strength.
5th Lot: – After all these processes, if sanctioned strength is not filled and seats are vacant, applicants from Priority Cat-3 (Cat-4 in Project or IHL KV) onwards will be taken up for admission as per the existing priority list for unreserved seats only. The unfilled leftover reserved seats of RTE or SC or ST or OBC (NCL) should be kept vacant.
KVS 2023-24 Admission Distance Criteria
Definition of Neighbourhood & proof of residence (applicable for admission under RTE only): Since Kendriya Vidyalayas are located at places with varied densities of populations, they have been categorized as follows for determining the limits of neighborhoods: 1. Major cities and Urban areas (All District Hqrs. & Metros) 5 km. Radius 2.Places and areas other than included in 1 above. 8 kms Radius Note: 2 1. Proof of residence shall have to be produced by all applicants. 2. A self-declaration in writing from the parent about distance may also be accepted to this effect, subject to verification.
KVS Lottery Draw for Class 1 Admission 2023-24
The draw of Lots for class 1 Admission in KV school: Many of our parents are asked how to conduct the draw of lots for class 1 admission in KV school: Every Kendriya Vidyalaya will constitute a committee for the purpose of monitoring a system of Draw of Lots to be held in Class 1. The committee will comprise the following five (05) members:
1. Principal Convener
2. Teacher Member
3. Parent Member
4. Parent Member (One lady Member)
5. VMC Member
6. Student Member
This committee may be notified with the concurrence of the Chairman, VMC, at least 5 days in advance of the draw of lots and be displayed on School Notice Board.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2023-24 for class 1 Age Limit
