Sub:- Reimbursement of cost of OPD medicines: Special sanction in view of COVID-19
Ref:- (i) Ministry of H&FW’s OM No.Z15025/12/2020/DIR/CGHS dated 27.03.2020, 29.04.2020, 29.05.2020 & 24.08.2020 (copy enclosed).
(ii) Railway Board’s letter No.28.03.2020, 29.03.2020, 05.05.2020 & 11.06.2020.
In reference to Board’s letters referred above, it was intimated that the instruction issued vide Ministry of Health and Family Welfare OM No.Z.15025/12/2020/DIR/CGHS dated 27.03.2020 was applicable to Railway medical beneficiaries up to 30.04.2020, 31.05.2020 and 31.07.2020.
Now Ministry of H&FW vide its OM No.Z15025/12/2020/DIR/CGHS dated 24.08.2020 have extended the provision up to 30.09.2020. The instruction issued by Ministry of H&FW shall also apply to railway medical beneficiaries till 30.09.2020.
It is also clarified that railway health facilities are functional and railway medical beneficiaries also have the option to collect medicines through railway health facilities as per normal practice, instead of purchasing from market.
This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Railway Board.
