Kendriya Vidyalaya PGT, TGT, PRT Teacher First Month Salary Calculation

After the implementation of the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission the salary structure for Post Graduate Teachers (PGT), Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT), and Primary Teachers (PRT) in Kendriya Vidyalaya the salary and perks have been increased. Minimum three times a year the take-home salary for PGT, TGT, and PRT Teachers salary will be increased due to the important salary element of Dearness Allowance and Annual Increment! A particular percentage of additional Dearness allowance will be sanctioned by the Central Govt twice a year! And also, Approximately 3% of the basic salary will be granted as an annual increment every year! These pay increment reflects in salary slip of KV teachers!

How to calculate KVS teacher’s salary per month?

According to the location of KV school (place of posting), the total salary will differ from one teacher to another teacher in the same grade! For example, if a PGT teacher is posted in Chennai (Tamil Nadu) her gross salary will be more than a same-grade PGT teacher posted in Madurai (Tamil Nadu)! Because of granting of House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance in accordance with the classification cities!

Classification of Cities for HRA and TA in KVS

The classification of cities for the purpose of House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance in Kendriya Vidyalaya. The teaching and non-teaching staff salary will be calculated as per the norms decided by the Central Government.  The cities and towns are classified as X, Y, and Z Class and the rates of HRA are 27%, 18%, and 9% of basic salary respectively. The cities and towns are classified as TPTA and Other Places for the purpose of TA and the rates of Transport Allowance are according to the basic salary.

PGT Teacher Pay Scale – Pay Level 8 (47600 – 151100)

TGT Teacher Pay Scale – Pay Level 7 (44900 – 142400)

Generally, the take home salary will be calculated after the government and private deduction. Initially, all TGT teachers should be paid the subscription of NPS. The subscription of NPS is equal to 10 percentage of basic salary plus Dearness Allowance.

PRT Teacher Pay Scale – Pay Level 6 (35400 – 112400)

Generally, the take home salary will be calculated after the government and private deduction. Initially, all PRT teachers should be paid the National Pension Scheme (NPS) subscription.

The Post Graduate Teachers are getting a basic salary of Rs.47600 in the pay matrix level of 8 in Kendriya Vidyalaya after the implementation of the 7th pay commission.

The Trained Graduate Teachers are getting a basic salary of Rs.44900 in the pay matrix level of 7 in Kendriya Vidyalaya after the implementation of the 7th pay commission.

The Primary Teachers are getting a basic salary of Rs.35400 in the pay matrix level of 6 in Kendriya Vidyalaya after the implementation of the 7th pay commission.
