How to pay fix on promotion as per 7th CPC?
There is no calculation for pay fixation as per 7th CPC. With Pay Matrix Table itself one can find the pay after getting promotion. The 7th CPC says in its report on fixing the pay on promotion or MACP as follows…
“One increment shall be given in the same level and placed equal or next higher amount in the promoted level”.
How to choose promotion date or increment date for fixing pay?
- Most of the employees’ DNI will be 1st July.
- If your promotion or MACP during the period from 2nd day of January to 1st day of July, then you may opt increment date for pay fixation.
- If your promotion or MACP during the period from 2nd day of July to 1st day of January, then you may opt promotion date for pay fixation.
- In case of your DNI date will be 1st January,
- If your promotion or MACP during the period from 2nd day of July to 1st day of January, then you may opt increment date for pay fixation.
- If your promotion or MACP during the period from 2nd day of January to 1st day of July, then you may opt promotion date for pay fixation.

My basic as on 21.12.2020 is Rs.40400 after macp sanctioned as on 08.08.2016 at level 5 SSA now I got promotion as on 22.12.2020 at level 6 . Now what’s pay will be as on 22.12.2020 and what’s the increment date beneficial. Kindly clarify please
Give January increment option then you will get from 1-1-21 as one increment in MATRIX LEVEL 5 of 41600 and your DNI fixed from 1-1-22 as 42,300 in MATRIX LEVEL 6.
Sir, My present basic pay 1 jan 2016 is Rs 60400.00 of PAY LEVEL – 7/11. But l got 3rd MACP on 30 Jan 2016 and straight away my pay fixation fixed to Rs 62200.00 of pay level- 8/10 and next increment is Rs 64100.00 as on 1 Jan 2017 of pay level- 8/11 and so on. My present basic pay Rs 70000.00 as on 1 Jan 2020 pay level- 8/14.
Now according to department of expenditure letter no 4-21/2017-Ic:E.IIIA dated 28 November 2019 of para 7 can i change option to jul. Otherwise please clarify me what benefit will i get vide above letter.
As per the 7th CPC it cannot be given MACP on 30-1-2016 It will be given from 1-7-16 in level 7/12 (in same level) as per rule you have completed six month same basic pay then it will be given 1-1-2017 in level 8/10 DNI on 1-1-2018 i.e. Level 8/11. If you require 6th CPC pay it can be given on 30-1-2016 since in GP 4800 DNI 1-7-2018.

Sir I m clinical doctor my promotion date is 06/05/16 but order come in 2019 which effective from 6/5/16 from cmo G pay 7600 to cmo ( nfsg) grade pay 8700.I opt for 7pay fixation from date of increment 1/7/16

Your basic pay with grade pay will be fixed as on 31/12/15 multiple by 2.57 and it will be fixed in level 12 matrix level as on 1/1/2016. After that from 1/7/16 as opted basic pay in level 13. Since you have not mentioned your basic pay it cannot be calculated. From 1/7/17 you will also get additional NPA if applicable.
