Service Book Format for Central Govt. Employees – Dopt
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has released a standardized format for service books to be used by central government employees. This new format will streamline the process of maintaining employee records and ensure consistency across departments. The service book will now include detailed information about an employee’s service history, including promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions. The format also includes sections for personal information, educational qualifications, and training programs completed by the employee. This new format will help central government departments maintain accurate and up-to-date records for their employees.

The proposed format of service book is a new standardized format developed by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) for the Central Government employees.
The new format of service book will be mandatory for all Central Government employees.
The proposed format of service book includes updated information on the employee’s personal details, such as the date of birth, date of joining, education qualification, and salary structure. It also includes a section for recording the employee’s annual confidential report (ACR).
The objective of introducing the new format of service book is to ensure that the employee’s job-related information is updated regularly, and the entire service history of the employee is recorded in one place for reference.
The Department of Personnel and Training has not yet announced the date of the implementation of the new format of service book. However, it is expected to be implemented soon.
