The Government of Tamil Nadu has decided to raise the Dearness Allowance (DA) by 4% for its employees, including teachers, pensioners, and family pensioners. This decision was announced today by the Chief Minister, M K Stalin.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had assured that the government would fulfill the demands of the employees, teachers, and pensioners by promptly announcing the increase in DA and DR (Dearness Relief) as soon as the Central Government announces the revision rate for its own employees and officers.
According to the Government Order, the Dearness Allowance will be increased from 42% to 46% starting from July 1, 2023. This hike in DA and DR will benefit over 16 lakh government employees, teachers, and pensioners. The implementation of these increases will result in an additional expenditure of ₹2,546.16 crore for the State exchequer.
