JCOs/OR – Revised Rates for Extra Work Allowance
The 7th Central Pay Commission has come up with a comprehensive list of Defence Allowances specifically tailored for the brave and valiant Junior Commissioned Officers and Other Ranks. This list covers all possible allowances that these dedicated soldiers may need to perform their duties with utmost efficiency and effectiveness.
a) Employees will receive an Extra Work Allowance of 2% of their basic pay every month, paid at a uniform rate.
b) The maximum period for receiving this allowance is one year, and after that, employees must wait for at least one year before being assigned similar duties again.
c) It’s important to note that the Extra Work Allowance cannot be combined. Even if an employee performs multiple tasks that are eligible for a 2% allowance, the total amount paid will not exceed 2% of their basic pay.
Who is eligible to receive the Extra Work Allowance?
The Extra Work Allowance is available to JCOs/ORs.
What is the rate of the Extra Work Allowance?
The Extra Work Allowance is paid at a uniform rate of 2% (two percent) of the basic pay per month.
How long can an employee receive the Extra Work Allowance?
An employee can receive the Extra Work Allowance for a maximum period of one year, and there should be minimum gap of one year before the same employee is deployed for similar duties again.
Is there a limit to the amount of Extra Work Allowance an employee can receive?
Yes, the total Extra Work Allowance payable will remain capped at 2% (two percent) of basic pay, even if the same employee is performing two or more such duties.
