One Rank One Pension, also known as OROP, is a scheme that was first proposed in the year 1973. It was meant to ensure that retired soldiers of the Indian armed forces receive a uniform pension, regardless of their ranks. However, the scheme was never implemented until recently. In 2015, the government finally announced that it would be implemented from 2016 onwards. Since then, there have been several revisions to the scheme. The latest revision was announced in 2020 and is set to be implemented from 2022 onwards. This revision is based on the recommendations of a committee that was set up by the government in 2019.

What is One Rank One Pension?

One Rank One Pension, or OROP, is a scheme that was implemented by the Indian government in 2015. It ensures that all retired personnel of the Indian armed forces receive a uniform pension, regardless of their rank at retirement. The scheme was first proposed in 1973, but it was not implemented until 2015. The main reason for the delay was lack of funds. However, after years of campaigning by veterans and their families, the government finally allocated the necessary funds and implemented the scheme. Under OROP, all retirees will receive the same pension as the personnel who retire in the same rank with the same length of service. This means that if a person retires as a colonel after 30 years of service, they will receive the same pension as another colonel who retires after 30 years of service. As of January 1st, 2022, the One Rank One Pension scheme will be in full effect for all eligible veterans. This means that any veteran who served in the military for 20 years or more will receive a pension that is equal to the highest-ranking officer’s pay, regardless of when they retire. For example, if a veteran retires as a Colonel after 30 years of service, they will receive the same pension as a General who also served 30 years. The OROP scheme is a way to ensure that all veterans are treated fairly and equally in retirement. It is an important step in supporting those who have dedicated their lives to serving their country.

One Rank One Pension Revision Scheme 2023

The One Rank One Pension scheme is a government initiative that was started in 2015 in order to ensure that all retired soldiers receive the same pension, regardless of when they retire. Instead of taking into account the calendar year in which the soldier retires, OROP fixes the pension on the basis of the rank and the number of years the soldier had served, to calculate his pension. Any future enhancement in the rates of pension would benefit all the ex-servicemen. This is the most important feature of the scheme.
