A significant number of holiday homes can be found in India’s popular tourist destinations, and they offer affordable room rates for government employees and retirees. The Directorate of Estates has categorized more than 70 holiday homes located in different parts of the country for administrative purposes, and the room rates vary based on these categories. The central government has announced new and revised rates for room charges at Holiday Homes for its employees and pensioners in select cities. The revised rates are applicable to Category-A cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Goa, Shimla, Nanital, Mussoorie, Udaipur, Agra and Mysore. The VIP room can be booked for Rs. 900 per day, while the non-AC double bedded room and AC double bedded room are available at a rate of Rs. 300 per day and Rs. 330 per day, respectively. The non-AC 4 bedded room can be booked for Rs. 430 per day, and the AC 4 bedded room is available at a rate of Rs. 400 per day. Additionally, the dormitory can be booked at a rate of Rs. 150 per day per bed.
Rate of Touring Officers Hostel at Kochi
The Touring Officers Hostel in Kochi has a specific rate for its accommodations. For double bedded suites, central government employees on duty can stay for Rs. 100, while those on leave will be charged Rs. 120. Private individuals accompanying government employees will be charged Rs. 265 as guests. For double bedded rooms, central government employees on duty can stay for Rs. 75, while those on leave will be charged Rs. 85. Private individuals accompanying government employees will be charged Rs. 185 as guests. It is worth noting that while prescribed forms are available for booking suites in the five holiday homes mentioned above, applications for reservation in the Touring Officers Hostel can only be made on plain paper.

Holiday Home (except Grand Hotel Shimla)
The accommodation options available for individuals staying at the Holiday Home, with the exception of the Grand Hotel Shimla, are categorized into three groups based on their association with the Central Government. These groups include those employees currently on duty, those on leave, and private individuals accompanying a Government employee as a guest. The rates for the Single Bed Suite are Rs. 25 for all three groups, while the Double Bed Suite is Rs. 40 and the Four Bed Suite is Rs. 50 for those on duty or leave and Rs. 165 and Rs. 245 respectively for private individuals accompanying Government employees.
For holiday homes, except for Grand Hotel Shimla, an extra license fee will be charged for each additional person beyond the specified capacity of a suite. The fee will depend on the type of individual, with Rs.10 for government servants, Rs.15 for state government employees and public sector undertakings, and Rs.25 for private individuals. Additionally, there will be charges of Rs.3 per day per bed for geyser and Rs.15 per day per AC (where applicable). Blankets in Shimla will also be provided at a rate of Rs.2.50 per blanket per day.
Retired government employees who wish to stay at Touring Officers Guesthouses will be charged the same rates as private individuals. Meanwhile, for holiday homes, they will be charged the same rates as Central Government employees, provided that they do not make advance bookings.
Lastly, rates for the Grand Hotel Shimla will be reduced by 50% between the periods of July 16th to September 30th, and January 16th to March 31st.

Holiday Home (Grand Hotel Shimla)
The Grand Hotel Shimla offers various types of suites for guests, including those who are Central Government employees on duty, on holiday, or retired. The prices for each type of suite vary depending on the guest’s status and whether they are accompanied by a private person as a guest of a government employee. The rates for a Single suite are Rs. 70 for Central Govt. employees on duty, Rs. 140 for Central Govt. employees on holiday/Retired Central Govt. employees, and Rs. 350 for private persons accompanying as a guest of Govt. employees. The rates for a Married Suite (2 beds) are Rs. 105, Rs. 210, and Rs. 525 respectively. For a Family Suite (4 beds), the rates are Rs. 140, Rs. 280, and Rs. 700 respectively. The VIP Suite (4 bed suite) in the Mayo Block is available for Rs. 300, Rs. 600, and Rs. 1800 respectively. Additionally, guests can opt for the Dormitory, which costs Rs. 50 per bed for Central Govt. employees on duty, Rs. 100 per bed for Central Govt. employees on holiday/Retired Central Govt. employees, and Rs. 150 per bed for private persons accompanying as a guest of Govt. employees.
