Filling Teaching & Non-Teaching Positions in Central Universities: Staffing Solutions
Central Universities (CUs), operating under the Ministry of Education, are independent institutions established by specific acts of Parliament. They are governed by the regulations outlined in these acts, statutes, and ordinances. The record-keeping for advertisements released by each Central University is not centralized.
The process of filling vacancies is ongoing, as these positions become available due to retirements, resignations, and the need for additional staff to accommodate growing student enrollment.
As of now, the Central Universities have successfully filled 4,305 teaching positions and 1,782 non-teaching positions through a special recruitment drive facilitated by the Department of Personnel and Training’s Mission Recruitment Portal. By December 31, 2023, the Central Universities aim to fill an additional 2,151 teaching positions and 5,368 non-teaching positions. However, there is no centralized information available regarding the specific dates and the current and sanctioned staff strength of these universities.
