The pay matrix table for existing employees working in Central Government Services

Basic Pension Calculation after 7th CPC

The minimum eligibility period for receipt of a pension is 10 years. Basic Pension is calculated with reference to emoluments (i.e.last basic pay) or average emoluments (i.e. an average of the basic pay drawn during the last 10 months of the service) whichever is more beneficial.

The amount of pension is 50% of the emoluments or average emoluments whichever is beneficial.

The minimum pension presently is Rs. 9000 per month. The maximum limit on pension is 50% of the highest pay in the Government of India (presently Rs. 1,25,000) per month. Pension is payable up to and including the date of death.

Actually 7th pay commission recommended a pay matrix table for CG employees to fix the revised pay with effect from 1.1.2016. After long deliberation, the Govt of India has decided to fix the pension also in accordance with the Matrix Table.

For easy calculation purpose only, we have split as two columns as Basic Pay and Basic Pension. We named as ‘Pension Matrix Table’.

These tables are just referenced purposes only. As per the decision of the Government of India on the revision of pension for pre-2016 pensioners, the table will be useful for easy reference.

It is stages of senior of Service your sealing limit from ₹ 37620 to 37700 in stage 12, if your sealing crosses 37710 you will be getting ₹ 49900/-. Other person’s stage is 29 of ₹ 37,590 to 38,710/- due to crossing ₹ 10/- he is getting ₹ 49,750/-. These differences are due to getting Promotions in Service and also appointed in early service getting increments in the previous years. These are reflected in the Matrix levels also in rounded off the formula 1. Basic pay plus grade pay multiple by 2.57 total rounded off as per early Services but due to late Promotions. Appreciate, seens three differences, due to this viewers all may note. Thanks.

Thanks for reply. My basic question is that whether a higher grade employees drawing higher pay in 6thcpc will get less pay on impletation of 7thcpc then a junior employee drawing less pay under 6thcpc.Details pay particulars has already been furnised in my earlier question.Naturally such fixation of pay will reflect in calculating pension also so I raised the issue. Is this not an anomaly?

This is to inform you that, you are the senior in getting earlier promotions, but your junior got more service than years. (more increments in lower post comparing to your service). You might have been joined later as per the date of birth, he might have been joined earlier as date of birth comparing to you. Mostly this will be happens in different of departments/Office & may be due to the reservation quota. Also due to arise minimum and maximum in every pay commissions. This is story as TORTISE & RABBIT , not we are calling story name RABIT & TORTISE. THIS IS NOT ANNOMILY, IT IS FATE.
