The Central Government Health Scheme, widely known as CGHS, is a medical program that meets the healthcare needs of serving and retired Central Government employees along with their loved ones. The program offers an extensive range of amenities, which includes OPD treatment for medical issues, expert consultations at government hospitals, hospitalization at both government and empanelled hospitals, and medical tests at government and empanelled diagnostic centers. Pensioners and eligible beneficiaries can make use of cashless treatment at empanelled hospitals and diagnostic centers. In case of an emergency, expenses incurred for medical treatment in private unrecognized hospitals are reimbursed. Apart from this, reimbursement is also provided for expenses related to the purchase of medical aids, such as hearing aids, artificial limbs, and other similar items. Furthermore, the program also offers family welfare and MCH services.

In an effort to offer quality healthcare services to Central Government workers, retirees, and their family members, the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) has released an extensive inventory of hospitals in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The scheme is geared towards creating a network of 94 hospitals within Nagpur and 6 additional hospital in Raipur to cater to the medical needs of all eligible beneficiaries. The list of CGHS approved hospitals in Maharashtra is designed to guarantee that those entitled to it receive the best possible care whenever necessary.

Incorporated in the latest version of the MH CGHS Hospital List for 2023 are 6 new cities in Raipur (CG), Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, Pune. These locations have been added to the list of areas where CGHS facilities are available for Central government employees and pensioners. This update ensures that eligible individuals in these regions have greater access to healthcare services. Maharashtra now has a total of 5 cities covered under the CGHS scheme, which extends to 79 cities across India.
