Contribution for One Time (Single Payment) CGHS Card for Pensioners

LIFETIME CENTRAL GOVERNMENT HEALTH SCHEME (CGHS) CARD

Monthly Subscription in CGHS (Calculation with example)

Pensioners can join the scheme of CGHS on yearly basis also. It should be a full calendar year from January to December. If one joins in the middle of the year, the calculation of subscription is carried out up to the month of December of next year. For example, a pensioner retired at the pay level of 6 and he wants to join the scheme of CGHS for one year from December. To obtain the CGHS card, he has to pay the amount for 13 months of subscription. A total of Rs. 5850 (13 x 450=5850).

Lifetime Subscription in CGHS (Calculation with example)

The lifetime membership registration in CGHS is very simple. Pensioners have to pay the subscription (according to your pay level as per 7th CPC) amount for ten years (120 months) as a one-time payment for a lifetime membership. For example, a pensioner retired at the pay level of 6 and he wants to join the scheme of CGHS for a lifetime membership. To obtain the CGHS card, he has to pay the amount for 120 months of subscription. A total of Rs. 54,000 (120 x 450=54000).

Fees for CGHS Card

Every pensioner has to pay Rs. 30 for his CGHS Master card. The card fee amount will be collected at the time of joining.

CGHS Lifetime Subscription Table

LIFE TIME CARD: CGHS Card for Central Government Pensioners – Contribution as above depending on the Last grade pay at the time of retirement. The choice is with the individual. One can apply for a Life time card by paying 10 years’ contribution together or one can apply for one year, two years, etc. by paying for that applicable period.

The Plastic Cards (which are identity cards), would hereinafter be issued with validity till the pensioner beneficiary is entitled to CGHS benefits. In respect of pensioner CGHS beneficiaries, who have paid CGHS contribution for ‘Rest of Life’ CGHS facilities, the Plastic Cards would, hereinafter, be issued for ‘Rest of Life’.

The ownership of the CGHS Card can be transferred in the name of the spouse on submission of required documents. No extra payment is to be made, in the case of lifetime cards. However in other cases, one has to pay 10 years subscription for life time card For example, if the spouse had contributed for seven years before he expired, the balance payment for the remaining three years is to be paid for a lifetime card.

You can file Income tax for the F.Y. 2019-20 with penalty. But there’s no benefit (return amount), you can get reduction from Income TAX if already taxed from that amount as per your eligible.

Answer to Dr.A.K.SINGH : After give a certificate of not availing fixed medical allowance, if non-resident of CGHS area, they can also get the CGHS card to pay the CGHS subscriptions as per his levels in 7th CPC of 12 months as every year or 120 months for LIFE CARD.

Answer to OM PRAKASH : Now you have to give ₹ 1000/- p.m subscription i.e 1000 × 120 = 1,20,000/- plus current year upto December from the payment of the month. If you are paid earlier I.e. 2/17 it was 50%.only.

    PUSKAR SINGH MEHTA on 22/3

As per your matrix level seven your monthly CGHS subscription of ₹ 650 × 120 months for life periods ₹ 78,000/-. Renewal of every year 650 × 12 =7800 per year.
