The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has recently unveiled an extensive report of summer, winter and autumn holidays for all Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools across India. According to the KVS notification, the summer vacation will commence from 8th May 2023 and end on 16th June 2023, spanning a duration of 40 days. Herein is a list of holidays for Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools in 2023. Each regional office of KVS will issue the respective holiday list applicable to the schools within its jurisdiction. Once the regional offices of KVS formally publish the orders regarding holidays, they will be immediately updated here.

Today, on the 30th of October 2023, the Kendriya Vidyalaya schools will resume their operations following the conclusion of the Autumn Break. Following a period of ten days dedicated to celebrating the puja holidays, all Kendriya Vidyalaya schools will recommence their educational activities from today onwards.

KVS Summer Vacation 2023-24

KVS Summer Vacation 2023-24: The organization has established regional offices in several cities, including Agra, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Delhi, Gurugram, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Silchar, Tinsukia, and Varanasi. With regards to vacation schedules, the summer vacation is scheduled to commence on May 8, 2023 (Monday) and conclude on June 16, 2023 (Friday), spanning a duration of 40 days. Moreover, the autumn break has been scheduled from October 20, 2023 (Friday) to October 29, 2023 (Sunday), for a total of 10 days. Finally, the winter break will extend from December 25, 2023 (Monday) till January 13, 2024 (Saturday), consisting of a total of 20 days.

The KVS Winter Holidays for 2023-24 will be observed across ten regional offices, namely Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Mumbai, Raipur, Bhubaneshwar, Bhopal, and Ernakulam. The vacation period will consist of three breaks: Summer Vacation which will last for 50 days from May 2, 2023 (Tuesday) to June 20, 2023 (Tuesday); Autumn Break which will take place from October 20, 2023 (Friday) to October 29, 2023 (Sunday), for 10 days; and the Winter Break which will be from December 25, 2023 (Monday) to January 3, 2024 (Wednesday), also for a total of 10 days.

Winter locations (except Kendriya Vidyalayas of winter locations falling under the Dehradun Division):

The Kendriya Vidyalayas of winter places falling under the Dehradun Division have set the dates for their upcoming holidays for the academic year 2023-24. The Autumn Break is scheduled to take place from October 20, 2023 (Friday) to October 29, 2023 (Sunday), spanning a total of 10 days. The Summer Vacation is slated to begin on May 15, 2023 (Monday) and will continue until June 3, 2023 (Saturday), totaling 20 days. The Winter Break is planned to commence on December 14, 2023 (Thursday) and end on January 22, 2024 (Monday), lasting for a total of 40 days. On the other hand, Kendriya Vidyalayas located in Leh, Kargil, and Nubra (Ladakh) UTs will have a Winter Vacation from December 4, 2023 (Monday) to February 11, 2024 (Sunday), amounting to a total of 70 days.

The Kendriya Vidyalaya School has released the holiday list for the academic years 2022-23 and 2023-24 in PDF format. It is important to note that both dates, including the opening and closing days, are inclusive. Additionally, if the day of opening or the day before closing of the Vidyalaya is a government-declared holiday, it will be included in the designated vacation and break period.
