Dearness Allowance News 2021
DA (Dearness Allowance) is an important salary element for Government Employees working in the Central and State governments. DA is not a static amount, it is variable once in six months. The current rate of percentage and individual basic salary is the key factor to calculate DA. Apart from the regular hike (Twice a year), the DA will also increase on getting Annual Increment and Promotion or MACP.
DA for Pensioners
D.A. (Dearness Allowance) is granted to existing Govt employees and the D.R. (Dearness Relief) is granted for retired employees from Government Service. The DR is calculated depends on the basic pension, not from the monthly pension.
DA impact on Transport Allowance
The percentage of DA is calculated on Transport Allowance (TA) for Central Government Employees to compensate for the inflation. In case of an employee drawing TA as Rs. 1800, the total amount of Transport allowance will be Rs. 2178 (1800 + 378).
