Expected Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central Government employees and pensioners from January 2020 – 4% confirm at this stage and 5% will be less chance!
The expected Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief for Central Government employees, Pensioners and Family Pensioners with effect from 1st January 2020 may be increased by 4%. Very little chance to increase by 5%.
Central Govt DA January 2020
We all know very well about eligibility, issuance and calculation of Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR). The first installment of DA and DR due from 1st January 2020 to existing and retired employees of the Central Government will be declared in the month of March 2020.

AICPIN for Nov and Dec 2019
The calculation of the percentage of additional DA and DR twice in a year will be finalized based on the AICPI index numbers. The calculation is carried out for the month from January to June and from July to December. Out of six months from 2019 July to Dec, the CPI-IW index has been released for the months of July, August, September, October and November only. And the press release of AICPI for the months of December will be published by Labour Bureau in subsequent months.

Conclusion – DA from 1st Jan 2020
At present, all group of CG employees including Railways and Armed Defence Forces Personnel are paid 17% Dearness Allowance (DA). And also pensioners and family pensioners are paid 17 per cent Dearness Relief (DR) at par with existing employees.

We expect to increase the DA and DR is 4% from January 2020. There will be very less chance to hike by 5%.
