Revised Rates of Risk and Hardship Allowances after the 7th Pay Commission
After the 7th Pay Commission, the rates of risk and hardship allowances have been revised. Risk & Hardship Allowances Matrix Table for Defence Personnel
The Ministry of Defence issued a notification on 18th September 2017, introducing a new Matrix risk and hardship allowance structure for eligible Defence personnel in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. This new structure, based on the 7th pay commission, presents a complete table consisting of 9 cells, categorized into Low, Medium, and High risk, alongside Low, Medium, and High Hardship. An additional cell named RH-Max has been included at the top, which combines Siachen Allowance as the highest risk and hardship category. It is important to note that the allowances will maintain their original names and admissibility conditions, unless otherwise specified. These allowances will be paid as per the rate of the cell under which they have been placed in the Risk and Hardship Matrix Table.
Revised Rates of 7th CPC Risk and Hardship Allowance to Railway Employees
The railway employees’ Risk and Hardship Allowance in accordance with the 7th Pay Commission has been revised. The Mate and Keymen category’s allowance has been raised from Rs. 2700 (R3 H2) to Rs. 6000 (R2 H2). Similarly, the Trackmen category performing Patrolling duty will now receive an allowance of Rs. 4100 (R3 H1), which was earlier Rs. 2700 (R3 H2). The Government of India has granted the Risk and Hardship Allowance to Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel in accordance with the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission.
