The Pay Matrix Table for Central Government Employees in India is an important table for establishing central government employees’ base compensation. The 7th Central Pay Commission established the pay matrix table. Since 2006, this table has been in effect. The Pay Matrix table is more than simply a list of numbers! What exactly is a Pay Level?
The Central Government of India uses a pay level system to determine the designation or grade of its employees. It is determined by the employee’s current position, grade, and other considerations. The salary scale is broken into 19 levels ranging from Level 1 to Level 18. (including 13A). The wage range varies by level, and the greater the level, the higher the salary. Level 1 employees, for example, get a minimum of Rs. 18,000 in starting basic pay, but Level 18 employees might earn up to Rs. 2,50,000 each month.

Classified ‘Z’ Cities: These are not covered by classification as X or Y cities or towns, which are all classified as Z class. Other Places or Other Cities: All cities and towns other than TPTA Cities (including Faridabad, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad & Noida). *Minimum HRA of Rs. 5400, Rs. 3600, and Rs. 1800 for Class A, B, and C respectively.
