The retirement age of infantry officers at the rank of colonel should be 56-57 years. This decision will help so many of the officers. Infantry officer does not have a technical qualification,,,,, so if they retire at 54,it actually doing injustice as they are mostly posted to far flung areas.

Sir, Sailing in a sophisticated submarine loaded with ammunition is like a sailor tide with live bombs on his body and placed in a deserted vast deep ocean. In that they do courageous adventured operations like deep diving, firing practices, under water search operations etc. They don’t get fresh air to breath, fresh food to eat or water to bath for days. Till 5th CPC they were privileged good allowance, food, increased pension for retired submariners and other privileges. The 6th CPC has withdrawn the above privileges and equalized the pension with other sailors.

The health of ex-submariners adversely effect in old age and separate care has to be taken. So it is requested that a separate pension formula be adopted for this poor ex-submariners to care their health.

Considering the pay matrix and the service limit of military personnel the retirement benefits will be fall far-behind for PBORs and officer below col rank. The policy say equal pay for equal work. But I could not find the compensation for the jawaans who work about 18 hrs a day. they getup at 04.00 h in the morning and goes to sleep at go bed at 20.00 h in the night. In addition thrice in a week they will be detailed for night duties. There must be a reconsideration of pay scales for the PBORs to Cols and compensation in the pay scale apart from military pay. In actual condition they perform the duties double that of their civilian countrpart and their devotion to duty is also double. It is the duty of the top politicians consider their case sympathetically without considering the recommendation of the civilian staff in side the south and north block because they know nothing about the military persons on duty.

All types of allces in army irrespective of rank/status should be equal. PBOR faces more hardship than officers. Also MSP should also be equal. As regards to vth and 6the CPC there is a big difference in basic pay/pay band of officers compare to PBOR. It should be rationalised. For example if a officer getting Rs 50000/- pay band and a JCO Rs 13000/- pay band as per 6th cpc’ if you multiply by 3 then officer pay will Rs 150000 and for JCO Rs 39000/- which resulting in big difference. Declaration of DA should also be accordingly. For example govt declares DA 6%, then DA for officers should be 4% and for PBOR 6%. Request govt to look into the matter and initiate as deem fit. Officers works in ac offices with all facilities, amenities and sahayaks, whereas JCOs/OR have nothing.

In present time Military Life is good but not up to the expected Level. Pay & Facilities for Offer is much higher than Jawan’s. Many talented & Capable Jawan’s can do much better outside but due to Policy Paralyzed they suffer and do nothing special in his Life…

According to my view VR should be like this…
    1. After Completion of 10 Yrs….VR….no any benefits….

    2. After Completion of 15 Yrs…VR….eligible for Pension up to 30%….

    3. After Completion of 20 Yrs…VR…..eligible for Pension up to 50%…Or what is given at Present……

    Thanks…

    Dear Sir,
It has been noticed as well as experienced by me that I have been retired on 44Yrs from Army. The retirement age for Sub Maj is 54 yrs of age or 34 yrs of service or 4yrs tenure which ever is earlier in Army, due to which max Sub Maj of Indian Army are retiring at the age of 40 to 48 Yrs where as in Air Force & Navy retirement age is 57 Yrs. There is harassing anomaly in these Three Force Of our Country, which is to be reviewed in the interest of State as Indian Army is loosing its creamy/trainned Sub Majs. Although while in Service I have represented this anomaly through proper channel to the competent authority i.e. AHQ Mo D, but I got simple reply from E-in-C’s Branch that the case has been analysis and no change in existing policy felt necessary therefore existing status quo be maintained duly signed by then Lt Col Manish without forwarding my representation to competent authority in 2011, no one had taken seriously on this issue so that Sub Maj can serve their nation till the age of 57/60yrs as in the case of Indian Air Force and Navy.
May I once again request you to go to the depth i.e. grass root study of service as well as loosing experts form forces.
    Thank you,
    With Regards,

the hole civil employees are enjoy upto their 58/60 years service benifits…whereas the soldiers (specially pbor)sent back to home @ the age of 33 to 38 years, is it justice? after retirement they are unable to face the financial crisis.and the the govt is anounced 10% re-employment but they give only age relaxation to compatit the exams, is it not possible to compatition with new gen people & new syllabus. unable to came up in merit list of entrolement, so my humble request is that, after tenure of service give professionel training and employ in suitable civil job, those are below 45 years old.do not give cr & do not kick back to home..plz remember their service for the nation ..

The retirement age should be uniform for the services as well as for civilian GOI employees. It is high time this annomali is corrected. It is cruel for the Service officers/ ORs to retire so early and lead a difficult retired life. Present day wars are fought on intellectual plane rather than on physical strength.

There is deficiency of officers except infantry, flying branches. Ground duties officers job can be achieved by pbors as they are well qualified nd they are actually runs the system by their blood nd sweats. So govt can set up a committee nd have study this suggestion. All ground duty officers r a waste of govt money nd creating unnecessary putting hurdles in the accomplishment of tasks where already sops are existing. They misuse the manpower nd service hours for their personal requirement. No need to increase retirement age it must be reduced so that we have gud nd young commanders.

In every pay commission, the gap between the pay structure of officer and that of PBOR is widening. Moreover, they have mostly started travelling by Air on leave , Temporary duty or on Postings.. Therefore the officers are unaware of hardship faced by PBOR who travel by trains where the General Quota is shrinking day by day and Defense Personnel are not being allowed to travel by newly introduced Premium Trains.

I think everyone will agree me that the sports facilities like Golf, Tennis, Squash, Swimming Pools are reserved for officers and their children. After 60 years of independence, I am not convinced how children and wife of an officer and a PBOR is different . Why children of PBOR not allowed to utilise the facilities for which even PBORs pay taxes to the Govt. If anywhere it is allowed for PBORs, they allot ridiculous timings to them.

The family of a PBOR is a disturbed lot. Children move from one state to another for their studies along with their father. In the due course, their studies get disturbed as children have to start afresh at every new place due to difference in the pace of syllabus covered. They also require time to get accustomed to the accent of teachers at new school. Thereby when a child finishes schooling, he/she is at disadvantageous comparing to the other students. Therefore, it is suggested that all Govt Colleges must have quotas for wards of Defense personnel.

This list of problems are as long as this Universe. To cut short, there is need to give sufficient tangible and intangible benefits to PBORs to lead a peaceful life after tougher service life.

At this site when people are taking about ” no volantary retirement is to be given that is being published” whereas when I am taking about “retirement without pension at any time ” that is being deleted. It shows that your site is run by ex-officers for the benifites officers not for soldier like all other platforms in india.

There should be valuntary retirement scheme (without pension) at any time in the service. Defence Officers want to enjoy service more and more in their ac office and for taking banifites they use to call themself “poor soldier”. whereas ground reality is this maximum soldier are so fedup with the egostic behavior and personal work of defence officers that they do not want to continue (application with record office can be checked).

Defence authories make policies for their own benefits and it is purily injustice that a soldier can leave the service only after clearing the exam equivelant to IAS.

There is no requirement of incress duration of pesionable service of army because there is to harashment given by officer to PBOR. They can’t provide leave properly and timely and use PBOR like a civil servent and ladies of officers are interfearing in army and local comanders are makeing there own rules and one more thing we also want to spent our one part of life with our famly, we also want to feel like a man. we just not want spend our life like Ajad desh ke gulam sipahi.

PBOR is being enrolled in Armed Forces on a contract service. Many of them released from service at very early age and face a lot of difficulties for settlement.. However officers Permanently commissioned in Armed Forces can serve upto 56/58/62 years. Further he can serve for 2-4 years post retirement on re-joining. So it is more essential to provide job security to PBOR on priority.

The retirement age of army pers and civil centre Govt. servants should be uniform. Also the promotion criteria in civil and Army should be same. See the Civil central Govt def. per e.g LDC is promoted till AO but in Army for PBORs Sub Maj is the last Rank however his age mey be less than 50 at the time of retirment. such things should be reftified and uniform rule should be formed

There is a huge gap in the payments of officers and the jawans. There should not be any discrimination. It is strange that the Military service pay which is paid to every soldier on the basis of potential threats of life….is also biased,.. 6000 per month for officers and 2000 per months for jawans. .commission should rethink on this criteria and an uniformity should be established on this issue.because every life has got equal importance.

we are talking about equality, cruelty etc meted out on armed forces personnel in comparing age of retirement of civilian employees.but we conveniently forget the service condition of subedar major of the indian army who have to step out of service once attain a maximum of four years of service in that rank irrespective to the length of service, age, educational qualification, medical fitness and other merits.

i got enrolment in army direct as naib subedar being technically qualified, and had to leave service in the rank of subedar major with only 20 years and 8 months of service at the age of 42 years on account of the crude rule of the 4 years of maximum allowable service for subedar major.at the time of retirement my medical catagory was ‘AYE’ and there was no disciplinary cases against me.

leave aside extension of service or rehabilitation in civil life, the pension granted was also drastically reduced stating that i have not rendered full length of service.it can be seen that i am not earning the full pension of even naib subedar , the rank at which i started the service.one becomes subedar major early either on account of outstanding performance or due to higher educational level. is it a crime.
i have already projected the issue to the chief of army staff, ministry of defence, prime minister of india and the honorable president of india(supreme commander of the armed forces)..but nobody paid any attention to look into the gross injustice done over to the subedar majors of the indian army who had to retire early from service based on the cruel condition.

I am aware that most of the educated personnel are taking voluntary retirement and engaging themselves in some Good position’s. That too in banks and govt job they are enjoying their last pay as their new salary. I also have the opinion that govt should not allow them to take VR merely putting service to enjoy ex-service status. Only on extreme family or medical ground are to be the criteria for VR.
