LTC Block Year 2018-21 – Carry Forward Option
4 Years Block Year
Block Year is an important aspect for availing Leave Travel Concession. The new block year has started from 2018 to 2021. ‘Anywhere in India’ concession can avail in this block year. Selected Place of LTC could choose any place in India to visit with family members by entitled Transport facility.

2 Years Block Year
The 4 Years Block Year is divided into two segments, such as 2018-19 and 2020-21. For the dividing purpose of this block year, Home Town concession can avail in this two years block year. Every Central Government employee two times to go to home town and back. And also in first 2 years block year may be availed as Home Town and in 2nd Block year can be availed as Anywhere in India.

LTC Block Year Grace Period
One year grace period is allowed for every 4 years block year. An employee will be allowed to avail LTC in 2022 with certain conditions fulfilled…
- An employee has not availed LTC in the block year of 2018-2021
- An employee has not availed LTC in the block year of 2018-19
Note: Carry forward option available in two years block year also.
4 Years Block Year 2018-2021
1st Block Year 2018-2019: An employee can avail Home Town or Anywhere in India
2nd Block Year 2020-2021: An employee can avail Home Town or Anywhere in India (if not availed in 1st Block Year)
Note: Grace Period is allowed to avail the concession for Home Town and Anywhere in India for eligible employees.
LTC Carry Forward to 2022
1st Block Year 2018-2019: An employee can avail of the concession to Home Town before 31st December 2020.
2nd Block Year 2020-2021: He can avail of the concession Anywhere in India before 31st December 2022.
LTC Rules for New Recruits
Who are fresh recruits for LTC? : An employee who has joined service for the first time is treated as a fresh recruit for the first 8 years.
Fresh recruits to the Central Government are allowed to travel to their home town along with their families on three occasions in a block of four years and to any place in India on the fourth occasion. This facility shall be available to the fresh recruits only for the first two blocks of four years applicable after joining the Government for the first time. [Click here more]
LTC is granted to Central Government employees to facilitate home travel as well as travel to different parts of the country. Presently two hometown visits are allowed in a block of four years with one hometown visit substitutable with “All India” visit.
