This is because it commemorates Hazrat Ibrahim as the Messenger of God, who always strived for the welfare of mankind. According to the Islamic calendar, the festival of Bakrid or Eid al Adha in the year 2024 will fall on Monday, June 17th and Tuesday, June 18th. This festival is celebrated across India, except in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, and Sikkim.
