Are Central Government Employees eligible to visit the Lakshadweep Islands using their Leave Travel Concession (LTC)?
Traveling Allowance for Central Government and Railway employees on transfer to and from the North-Eastern Region, Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar, Lakshadweep Island, and Ladakh is subject to specific conditions. The requirement for presenting a receipt or voucher is outlined as follows:
If the Railway employee’s family does not accompany them during the transfer to or from these areas, they are eligible to transport personal effects up to one-third of their entitlement. In this case, it is not mandatory to provide a receipt or voucher to claim the one-third entitlement for transportation of personal effects.
However, if the Railway employee’s family accompanies them during the transfer to or from these areas, they are entitled to the permissible cost of transporting personal effects. To claim the admissible amount as per their entitlement for transportation of personal effects, it is mandatory to provide a receipt or voucher.
