Maternity Leave to Central Govt female Employees

Female employees who are expecting a child can avail themselves of the Maternity Leave policy, which allows them to take a leave of two months. This policy, implemented by the Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA), aims to support women during the crucial time of pregnancy and childbirth, and to ensure their physical and emotional well-being. Additionally, this policy also acknowledges the importance of a work-life balance for employees, particularly for women who are balancing work and motherhood.

CGDA Clarification Regarding Granting of Maternity Leave

The Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) issued a clarification regarding the granting of maternity leave to female employees. The clarification states that female employees are entitled to maternity leave for a maximum period of 180 days, which includes any leave taken prior to delivery. In addition, female employees can also take up to two breaks of one hour each for nursing their child until the child reaches the age of 15 months. This clarification serves to ensure that female employees are granted their rightful entitlements and can balance their work and family responsibilities.
