TN Govt Employees and Teachers to Get 4% DA Hike from 1.4.2023

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced a 4% Dearness Allowance (DA) hike for government employees, teachers, and pensioners with a retrospective effect from April 1. The hike will benefit 16 lakh employees and cost an additional expenditure of Rs 2,366.82 crore. The government stated that it was fulfilling promises made to employees despite the state’s debt following the Covid-related dip in revenue earnings and the financial crisis passed on from the previous regime. The DA for government staff will be increased from 38% to 42% in line with the central government’s hike.
