Tamil Nadu Government increased 5% Dearness Allowance with effect from 1st July 2019
DA Arrears will be paid from 1.7.2019
The State Government of Tamil Nadu announced on Thursday (17.10.2019) increased the Dearness Allowance admissible to its employees from the existing rate of 12% to 17% with effect from 1.7.2019.

Following the pattern of Central Government, another State Government, Tamil Nadu declared a Special Diwali Gift of 5 percent basic pay increased from the month of July. And the DA arrears will be paid in cash. A government order issued in this regard.
As per the GO, the enhanced Dearness allowance eligible for all permanent employees including teaching and non-teaching staff working in aided educational institutions. Local Body employees, UGC Staff, Village Assistants, Noon Meal Organisers, Child Welfare Organisers, Anganwadi Workers, Cooks, Helpers, Panchayat Secretaries and other employees drawing in the prescribed Level of Pay in the Special Pay Matrix.
In early Oct 9, the Central Government approved and published orders on DA enhanced by 5% and not yet released the payment of arrears to all eligible employees. The NC JCM Staff Side Secretary has also requested the Government to issue the arrears before Diwali Festival or issue the salary payment of October will issue before the festival.
