TN Dearness Allowance Table 2025: The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, announced today an additional 3% Dearness Allowance for government employees and teachers, effective from July 1, 2025, resulting in a total increase of 58% in the Dearness Allowance.
The Tamil Nadu DA Rate Chart illustrates the percentage of Dearness Allowance (DA) granted to employees by State Governments. The method for determining the additional DA percentage is similar across all State Governments, as it is based on the central government’s declaration of DA for its employees and pensioners. The chart shows the additional DA and total DA percentages for specific periods, including 01.04.2023 (4% additional DA and 42% total DA), 01.01.2023 (4% additional DA and 38% total DA), 01.07.2022 (3% additional DA and 34% total DA), and 01.01.2022 (14% additional DA and 31% total DA).

The current rate of Dearness Allowance for Tamil Nadu State Government employees is 38% of the basic salary from 1st January 2023.
The current rate of Dearness Relief (DR) for Tamil Nadu State Government pensioners and family pensioners is 38% of the basic pension from 1st January 2023.
The current rate of Dearness Allowance for Tamil Nadu teachers is 38% of the basic salary from 1st January 2023.
