Railway Employees Diwali Bonus | 78 Days Cabinet Approved 2022-23

The approval of the Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) for railway employees in the amount of Rs 1968.87 Crores has been granted by the Union Cabinet, presided over by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This bonus, which is equivalent to 78 days’ wages, is applicable for the financial year 2022-23 and will be provided to eligible non-gazetted Railway employees, including Track maintainer, Loco Pilots, Train Managers (Guards), Station Masters, Supervisors, Technicians, Technician Helpers, Pointsman, Ministerial Staff, and other Group ‘C’ staff (excluding RPF/RPSF personnel).

In recognition of the exceptional performance demonstrated by the Railway staff, the Union Government has authorized the payment of PLB amounting to Rs 1968.87 crore to a total of 11,07,346 railway employees. The Railway’s performance during the year 2022-2023 has been commendable, with a record cargo load of 1509 Million Tonnes and transportation of nearly 6.5 Billion Passengers.

Numerous factors have contributed to this remarkable achievement, including enhanced infrastructure resulting from substantial investments made by the Government in Railways, operational efficiency, and the application of advanced technology.

The payment of PLB serves as a significant incentive to inspire Railway employees to continue their efforts towards further enhancing their performance.
