Payment of Gratuity to the employees of CPSEs-Clarifications
Amendment in the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972, regarding enhancement of ceiling of gratuity from Rs.10 lakhs to Rs.20 lakhs and effective date i.e. 29.03.2018.
Discreation should not be discriminatory. The enhanced limit of gratuity for central govt. employees is considered from 01.01.2016 whereas for public sector employees it is considered from 28.03.2018 which is not justified and against the law. GOVT. SHOULD RECONSIDER THIS ISSUE AND ARRANGE NECESSARY AMMENDMENT TO REDRESS THE GRIEVANCE OF THE EMPLOYEES WHO RETIRED BETWEEN 01.01.2016 TO 27.03.2018
Sir, It is not clear as to why the Govt. is not correcting the date of implementation of Gratuity of Rs.20 lakhs for PSUs’ retired employees to 1.1.2016 as recommended by 7th Pay Commission and also Payment of Gratuity Act 1972, What is the fault of PSUs’/Pvt.sector employees. All are doing their jobs sincerely and faithfully and also who have retired after 1.1.2016 also done their jobs sincerely. I think there is no difference between employees whether Govt,, PSUs or Pvt sectors. So the Govt. is requested to save the retired persons to let them live smoothly by correcting the date of implementation of Gratuity.

This is to inform you that the gratuity act was ammended on 29/3/2018 for all the employees not only for central government employees, since the new fanancial years 2018-2019.stars.
