Minister Replied in Parliament Regarding the Implementation of OROP-2 on 3.2.2023

On 3rd February 2023, the Minister of State for the Ministry of Defence, Shri Ajay Bhatt, declared in the parliament that the Supreme Court had granted an extension until 15th March 2023 to execute its order from 16th March 2022 regarding the One Rank One Pension (OROP). The government issued orders on 4th January 2023 to revise the pensions of Armed Forces pensioners/family pensioners under the OROP scheme starting 1st July 2019.

Furthermore, the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions) is the responsible entity for implementing the government’s orders and policies concerning pensions of Defence Forces personnel and thus gave necessary instructions for the payment of the revised pension to the aforementioned individuals beginning 1st July 2019.
