The Government contribution for National Pension Scheme (NPS) to Tier-I account has been increased from 10% to 14% (basic salary plus DA) with effect from April 2019 to all Central Government employees.

This information was given by the Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on 12.12.2019.

“The monthly employers contribution under the New Pension Scheme (NPS) was enhanced from 10 per cent to 14 per cent of basic pay plus dearness allowance in respect of the Central Government employees covered under NPS.

The said enhancement of employer contribution has not been extended to the employees of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan as there is no decision for extension of the enhanced payment of employers’ contributions to the employees of Autonomous Bodies”.
