Central Services Medical Attendance Rules 1944 provide coverage for medical expenses for Out-Patient and In-Patient treatment for Central Government Employees and Pensioners living in areas not covered by CGHS. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has granted approval to certain private hospitals under CS(MA) Rules, to allow reimbursement of package rates for medical treatment taken by Central Government Employees and Pensioners at these hospitals.

In Chandigarh, the lab for investigation/diagnostic/blood sample testing was not yet appended to the Private lab list as per CS (MA), 1944 Rules. 06 Labs in the form of hospitals are there and most of the Labs in Chandigarh (CS (MA),1944 rule) were closed. The list is prepared long back, maybe 20 years back, and not yet updated. In Chandigarh, only one Lab, Chandigarh Clinical Laboratory, is there instead of all approved Pvt labs empaneled by CGHS. Pl empaneled all Pvt Lab approved by CGHS in Non -CGHS area of Chandigarh.

No. If you got CGHS CARD after paying you can avail in non-cghs area also.

Administration : In my opinion as asked the question of SUKANAH GUHA, she requires continuous reimbursement in EMPHENALLED HOSPITALS it will not be allowed from the CGHS authorities. Only they will allow emergency cases & prescribed periods of such treatments. If they are having CGHS benefited they may reimburse the medical expenses such major diseases in any of the GOVERNMENT HOSPITALS, Tamil Nadu.

Sir, I am working in sub-urbs of Pune and covered by CS(MA) rules for Medical Reimbursement. Is medical reimbursement admissible if my dependent parents take treatment in any of the CS(MA) or CGHS recognized or government hospitals located in bangalore or hyderabad.
