What is the age cut off for a child applying to grade-1?

• The minimum age for admission to Std 1 is 5 years and the maximum admissible age is 7 years as on 01/04/2019, with a 2 year relaxation in upper age limit for “Differently-Abled” candidates.
• Thus, the allowed range of date of birth of a child seeking admission is: 1.04.2012 to 1.04.2014 for applications not in the “Differently Abled” category.
• The allowed range of date of birth of a child seeking admission in the “Differently Abled” category is 1.04.2010 to 1.04.2014. If the entered date of birth does not live in above mentioned range, sign up/registration will not be allowed.”

Are only government employees eligible to apply for admission of their wards in Kendriya Vidyalayas?

• No, self-employed persons, persons in private jobs and those from floating population are also eligible to apply for admission of their wards to Kendriya Vidyalayas. However, admission will be granted in order of priority specified in Guidelines for Admission to Kendriya Vidyalayas.
