How to Calculate DA from Jan 2024?
To determine the Dearness Allowance (DA) for January 2024, it is necessary to follow the calculation method recommended by the 7th Pay Commission. Specifically, the DA for January 2024 is computed based on the average of the All India Consumer Price Index Numbers (AICPIN) from January 2023 to December 2023, which spans 12 months. However, it is important to note that the data for December 2023 will only be available on January 31, 2024. Therefore, the precise calculation of the DA percentage for January 2024 can only be determined once this data is released.

There is a greater likelihood that the percentage of Dearness Allowance will reach the 50% threshold starting from January 2024.
