The All India Consumer Price Index (AIPCIN) Numbers for the month of January and July 2022 is 125.1 and 129.2 respectively. According to the calculation methodology, the DA and DR will be hiked by 4 percent from the existing rate. The total Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief for Central Government employees and Pensioners respectively is almost confirmed to be 38 percent from July 2022! The official announcement on the DA/DR hike will be declared after getting the approval from Cabinet in the middle of September 2022.

The hike of Dearness Allowance is declared Once in 6 months from January and July of every year. This year 2022, the first installment of Dearness Allowance has been declared and the DA hiked by 3% (Total DA 34%) from the existing rate. And the second installment of Dearness Allowance due from 1st July 2022 will be declared in the month of September 2022!
