After releasing the final AICPIN for the month of June 2022, the ‘Expected DA Calculation from July 2022’ is over! The 38% Dearness Allowance from July 2022 is almost confirmed!
The All India Consumer Price Index (AIPCIN) Numbers for the month of January and July 2022 is 125.1 and 129.2 respectively. According to the calculation methodology, the DA and DR will be hiked by 4 percent from the existing rate. The total Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief for Central Government employees and Pensioners respectively is almost confirmed to be 38 percent from July 2022! The official announcement on the DA/DR hike will be declared after getting the approval from Cabinet in the middle of September 2022.

Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) are the most important factors to hike salary and pension for Central Government employees and pensioners respectively! The hike of Dearness Allowance is declared Once in 6 months from January and July of every year. This year 2022, the first installment of Dearness Allowance has been declared and the DA hiked by 3% (Total DA 34%) from the existing rate. And the second installment of Dearness Allowance due from 1st July 2022 will be declared in the month of September 2022!

Expected DA for Bankers from May 2022
The Rate of Dearness Allowance for bankers for the months of May, June, and July 2022 will be 33.04 Percent of basic pay. The average Consumer Price Index (AIPCIN) of the above is 8241.42 and accordingly the number of DA slabs is 472 (8241 – 6352= 1889/4= 472 Slabs). The last quarterly Payment of DA was at 471 Slabs. Hence, there is an increase in DA slabs of ‘1’ i.e. 472 Slabs for payment of DA for the quarter of May, June, and July 2022.
