PM on Tour – After returning from tour only Cabinet will meet and decide on DA
Payment of 5% Additional DA due from July 2019 will be added in the month of September salary and the DA arrears for the month of July and August shall also be issued in the same month. But unfortunately, Cabinet Committee not yet given its nod . Hence, announcement of 5% DA could be declared at any time!
5% DA and Arrears Calculation
If an employee basic pay Rs. 37000, calculation of enhanced amount of DA and Arrears will be as follows…

Current DA per month
Rs. 37,000 x 12% = Rs. 4,440
Enhanced DA per month
Rs. 37,000 x 5% = Rs. 1,850
Total DA from July 2019 per month
Rs. 37,000 x 17% = Rs. 6,290
Arrears for two months
Enhanced DA for the month of July per month: Rs. 1,850
Enhanced DA for the month of August per month: Rs. 1,850
Total arrear: Rs. 3,700
The 5% additional Dearness allowance for the period of 6 months from July to December 2019. After that the next episode of ‘DA from January 2020’ will start!
