The Cabinet of Ministers this week is expected to give its approval to granting 6% Dearness Allowance to Central Government employees. The dearness allowance for the months of July to December 2014 is given in January 2015.

During Congress government we 10% DA hike was given for about four occasions and at least 12% was expected in July last year (even if, Congress government remained in power) but only 7% was given. The dearness has increased drastically. Now only silly 6%. What a joke of achchhe din.

Our union leaders are discussing with the Government since 2011 and in return what Central Government and employees got only false assurances reassurances. Now I request Central Government employees and pensioners to close the doors of union offices and wait whatever alms are given by the Government. For the last 12 years we have never seen that the announcement of DA w.e.f. 1.1.2015 has not been made till 30.3.2015 i.e. too very meager 6% and we have also never experienced that merger of DA not announced when DA breached to the level of 50%. It will be in the fitness of Government employees and pensioners if we just forget our Merger of DA, Interim Relief and implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations.
