What Will Happen When DA Crosses 50%?

50 DA Merger Calculator: The DA mark has not yet reached the threshold of 50%, indicating that no conclusions can be drawn regarding this matter. It is not customary to combine Dearness Allowance with the basic salary once the DA percentage exceeds 50%. While the inclusion of DA in the basic salary can significantly enhance employees’ overall compensation, it is important to note that neither the 6th CPC nor the 7th Pay Commission recommended the merger of DA.

50 DA Merger Calculator in 6th CPC Tenure

The merger of Dearness Allowance (DA) during the 6th Central Pay Commission (CPC) tenure has been a long-standing demand of Central Government employees, remaining unresolved for over three years. It holds a prominent position in the Charter of Demands put forth by these employees. Many readers have expressed interest in understanding the financial implications of merging 50% of the Dearness Allowance with the basic pay. This can be determined through a straightforward calculation, wherein the concept of ‘Dearness Pay’ comes into play. To assist with this calculation, we have developed a user-friendly calculator that takes into account your Basic Pay, House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Travel Allowance (TA). By inputting these details, the calculator will automatically determine your current salary, as well as provide an estimate of your pay after merging 50% of the DA with the basic pay. Additionally, it will indicate the difference in the amount resulting from this merger.

An Overview of DA Merger in 2004

A Comprehensive Analysis of the DA Merger in 2004: Factors Considered for Calculating the Disparity in Basic Pay and DA after 50% DA Merger. In 2004, before the implementation of the 6th Pay Commission Report, a significant development took place in the form of a 50% DA Merger. Before this merger, the applicable Dearness Allowance (DA) stood at 61%. Subsequently, a new component known as Dearness Pay was introduced, which amounted to 50% of the basic pay. Additionally, a new DA rate of 11% was calculated based on both the basic pay and the dearness pay. The specific details are as follows:

Basic Pay (Rs) DP Total BP DA @ 11%
6500 3250 9750 1073

Impact of 50% DA Merger with Basic Pay Calculation

Estimation of Disparity in Base Salary and Dearness Allowance (DA) for Proposed 50% DA Merger

This calculation serves as an approximation and should be noted that the official order regarding the merger of DA has not yet been issued by the Government. The applicability and actual benefits can only be determined once the formal orders for a 50% DA merger are issued.

For additional benefits resulting from the DA merger, we have solely considered the pay in the pay band and grade pay. It is important to recognize that the impact of the DA merger can also be evaluated in House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Travel Allowance (TA).

Considering the DA eligibility as 100% on the date of January 1, 2014, we have estimated the DA after a 50% DA merger as 50% on the same date. The precise DA granted by the Government from January 1, 2014, will only be disclosed upon the issuance of the DA orders with effect from that specific date.

To determine the difference in Basic Pay and DA, we have made estimations specifically about the entry-level pay in the pay band, which correspond to four grade pays: Rs.2400, Rs.4200, Rs.5400, and Rs.8700. These grade pays are associated with the revised Pay Scales PB-1, PB-2, PB-3, and PB-4 respectively under the 6th Central Pay Commission (6CPC). It should be noted that a similar calculation can be conducted for other grade pays within the revised pay scales of the 6CPC, concerning the disparity in Basic Pay and DA resulting from the 50% DA merger.

  • 6CPC Pay Scale PB-1 Rs.5200-20200

8th Pay Commission should reduce the difference of salary of the lowest paid employee and highest paid employee. In America and Russia it is 1:4 whereas in India it is 1:15. No other country in the world such a difference exists.

With due respect, i want to know that earlier we heard that pay commission will really effect govt. employees salaries. Salaries will be hiked two fold or at least 1.5 times of given salaries. But now it is heard that only 23 percent hike. It is not worth full as govt wants its govt employees work hard just like private employees. We have large expectations from this commissions. But there will increase only 7000-8000 salaries. As tax is increasing salary should be increase of govt. employees so that do their work with full of responsibility. At the time of congress govt. in pay commission salaries almost doubled. Govt. employees have a kind og enthusiasm and do something great.. Why BJP govt is not doing this. Acheehin din kab aayengein for haryana govt employees mainly teaching department. If salaries are not up to expectation, then only people take under table money. If salary is sufficient, then no corruption in haryana teaching department.. When will be DA merger in to basic pay??? we heard it since may days. I request my Honorable education minister do something so that there is no salary gap in haryana govt or delhi govt employees as if now. There is 20 percent HRA and many other allowances they are getting and very nice transfer poilcy. Its my reuest please look in to the matter and do something for better future of education including teachers and students. Our education department is usually named as corrupted department, we want to clear this thing.

    Thanks

Supreme court said and minister said in Parliament that arrears for 01-01-2006 to 23-09-2012 should be paid to pre- 2006 retirees.Every thing is in black and white. But the Officers in the respective offices are not moving their pen to dispense with the arrears practically .This is my experience. This problem should be addressed immediately and all very aged pensioners should get their legitimate right with out any more delay.
