Tomorrow (4.12.2023 Monday) Public Holiday Declared in Tamil Nadu!

Tomorrow, on Monday, December 4, 2023, the Tamil Nadu Government has declared a public holiday due to the heavy rain forecast. The government has advised all private organizations to allow their employees to work from home. The holiday has been declared in anticipation of the impending cyclone named “Michaung,” which is expected to bring heavy rainfall and strong winds to several districts including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, and Chengalpattu.

This decision applies to schools, colleges, all government offices, public undertakings, corporations, boards, banks, and financial institutions. The holiday has been declared under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. In light of the situation, the Chennai Metro Rail Company has urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel and to prioritize safety if travel is necessary.
