There are specific age relaxations available: a maximum of five years for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, and three years for Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates, provided the positions are reserved for these groups.
Eligibility under the OBC category is restricted to candidates classified as ‘Non-Creamy Layer’ (NCL). Those classified as ‘Creamy Layer’ must apply under the ‘Unreserved’ category. OBC (NCL) candidates must present a valid OBC (NCL) certificate issued between April 1, 2025, and the date of document verification during the interview. Failure to provide this certificate will result in disqualification from the interview process.
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are granted a relaxation of ten years, with additional relaxations of thirteen years for OBC PwBD candidates and fifteen years for SC/ST PwBD candidates when positions are reserved. Ex-servicemen are eligible for a five-year age relaxation, which applies to those who have completed a minimum of five years of military service and meet specific release conditions.
Candidates from SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD categories who also qualify as ex-servicemen can benefit from cumulative age relaxations. However, if there are no reserved vacancies for these categories, they may still apply but will not receive any age relaxations. Additionally, SC, ST, PwBD, women, and ex-servicemen are exempt from application fees, while OBC, PwBD, and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates must provide a current certificate from the Competent Authority as per government guidelines.
