Merger of Postmaster Cadre Grade-I, II and III with General Line of LSG, HSG-II and HSG-I

Department of Posts already issued an office order (No. 25-19/2018-PE-I Dated 10th July 2019) regarding the merger of postmaster cadre of three grades with selection grade cadre. Postmaster Grade-III has merged with Higher Selection Grade – I (HSG-I) in the Pay Matrix Level 7.

The Postmaster Grade-II has merged with Higher Selection Grade-II (HSG-II) in the Pay Matrix Level 6. The Postmaster Grade-I has merged with Lower Selection Grade (LSG) in the Pay Matrix Level 5.

Now, one more clarification order issued by the Department of Posts with the continuation of the above said order that the Committee constituted to examine the issues relating to the Postmasters Cadre had observed that consequent upon restructuring of Group-C posts of General line, Post Offices earlier headed by LSG officials are now being headed by HSG-II officials.

Similarly, Post Offices earlier headed by HSG-II officials are now being headed by HSG-I officials.

Therefore, the Committee recommended that the Post Offices currently being headed by Postmaster Grade-I and Postmaster Grade-II may be headed by HSG-II and HSG-I officials respectively after the merger.
