NOTIFICATION-I

The following list of the General Holiday sanctioned by the Government for the year 2024 is published for general information.

All Second Saturdays, Fourth Saturdays, Sundays and the following days.

Public Holidays in Karnataka 2024

Note:

1. This list does not include Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanthi (14.04.2024) & Mahaveera Jayanthi (21.04.2024) which falls on Sundays and Vijayadasami (12.10.2024) which falls on Second Saturday.

2. Government Offices will be closed through out the State on General Holidays. However, Heads of department should make necessary arrangements for the discharge of urgent works.

3. If any of the Holidays for the festivals of Muslim Fraternity notified above does not fall on the date notified, Muslim Fraternity in Government Service may be granted holiday on the date of observance in view of the holidays already notified.

4. Local Holiday is declared for Kodagu District only on account of Kail Muhuruth on 03.09.2024 (Tuesday), Tula Sankramana on 17.10.2024 (Thursday) and Huthri Festival on 14.12.2024 (Saturday).

5. Separate list of Holidays will be published by the Commissioner of Public Instructions for the Education Department.

6. In addition to the General Holidays the State Government Employees may utilize any of the restricted holidays not exceeding two days during the year 2024 with prior permission from the authority who is authorized to sanctioned Casual Leave.

2. This list does not include

Ananta Padmanabha Vrata (16.09.2024) Monday which falls on General Holiday in view of Eid-Milad.

Tula Sankramana (17.10.2024) Thursday which falls on General Holiday in view of Maharshi Valmiki Jayanthi.

Public Holiday Announcement – Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal

It is hereby officially proclaimed that the 13th of November, 2023, has been designated as a public holiday for the Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal. This holiday applies to both the Principal Bench​ in Bangalore and the Benches in Belagavi and Kalaburagi. Furthermore, it has been officially announced that Saturday, the​ 18th of November, 2023, will be a full working ​day for the Tribunal at all locations mentioned. Consequently,​ matters scheduled for the 13th of November, 2023, will be​ rescheduled and heard on the 18th of November, 2023, by the respective Benches.

Holiday Closure – Varamahalakshmi Festival

In observance of the Varamahalakshmi Festival, the Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal, including its Principal Bench in Bengaluru and the Benches in Belagavi and Kalaburagi, will remain closed on Friday, August 25th, 2023. As a result, Saturday, September 16th, 2023, has been designated as the Full Sitting Day for the KSAT Benches. The matters originally scheduled for August 25th, 2023, will now be addressed on September 16th, 2023, by the respective benches. This announcement is made under the authority of the honorable Chairman.

Public Holiday Notification – Election to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly

According to the Government Notification No.DPAR 12 HHL 2023, dated 02.05.2023, Wednesday, the 10th of May, ​2023, has been declared a public holiday due to the ‘Election to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly’. Therefore, the Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal will also observe this public holiday on the aforementioned date, 10.05.2023.

Holiday Amendment – Mahaveer Jayanthi

The Karnataka State Government has revised the date for the ‘Mahaveer Jayanthi’​ holiday. It will now be observed on Tuesday, the 4th of April, 2023, instead of Monday, the 3rd of April, 2023.
