Fixed Medical Allowance for Central Govt Pensioners

Fixed Medical Allowance (FMA) is a scheme provided by the Government of India to its employees who are not covered under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS). This allowance is given to employees to cover their medical expenses. In this article, we will discuss the details of FMA and how it benefits the employees.

The eligibility criteria for FMA are as follows:

1. The employee should not be covered under CGHS.
2. The employee should not be availing any other medical facility from the government.
3. The employee should not be receiving any medical reimbursement from the government.

The Fixed Medical Allowance (FMA) is a unique perk reserved solely for retired individuals residing in urban areas that fall outside the purview of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS). An additional prerequisite is that these pensioners must not be utilizing the outpatient department (OPD) services offered by the nearest CGHS wellness center or hospital. [FAQ on FMA in detail click here]
