Sub: Eligibility of Level-1 (erstwhile Group ‘D’) employees for appearing the Selection of Publicity Inspector of Level-5.
In terms of instructions contained in Board’s letter No. E(NG)I/89/PM20/2 dated 28.03.1989 (RBE No.89/1989), the vacancies in the post of Publicity Inspector in Level-5 are to be filled up on the basis of a Departmental Competitive Examination from amongst the Graduate Railway employees, who have completed 5 years service in Group ‘C’ in any of the Departments of the Railway, and are not above 35 years of age. The employees selected as Publicity Inspector are imparted 45 days training in Zonal Training Schools and are attached to Newspaper/AIR/Doordarshan for a period of two weeks before being put to working posts.
One of the Railways has sought clarification as to whether all Gr. ‘C’ staff from Level-1 to Level-4 would be eligible for appearing the selection for the post of Publicity Inspector of Level 5. The matter has been examined and with approval of competent authority, it is clarified that Level-1 employees (erstwhile Group ‘D’), who are now classified as Group C, are also eligible for the selection to the post of Publicity Inspector in Level-5.
