In the interest of public service, the Governor of Assam is pleased to declare the Poll Day (i.e. the 30th October 2021, Friday), as Public Holiday under Section 25 of N.I Act, 1881 (XXIV of 1881) read with the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs Notification No.20/25/Pub-I dated 8th June 1957 in the entire area falling under 28-Gossaigaon, 41-Bhabanipur, 58-Tamulpur, 101-Mariani and 107-Thowra Legislative Assembly Constituencies on account of Bye-Election announced by Election Commission of India vide Notification No. ECI/PN/03/2021 dated 28th September 2021.
All the Govt./Non-Govt, Offices, all bodies and organizations under the State Government including urban local bodies & PRIs, Educational Institutions, and Business Establishments including Banks, Tea Garden and Industries etc, within the jurisdiction of above mentioned Assembly Constituencies will remain closed on account of this Public Holiday under N.I.Act.
